Since 5.2, I’ve made a few modifications to my WeakAuras configuration. Nothing major, but definitely some quality-of-life improvements.
One option that WeakAuras lacks is the ability to set a trigger based on Spell ID and time remaining. You can do one or the other, but not both – as soon as you chose “Use Full Scan” to filter by Spell ID you lose the ability to check duration. This makes it impossible to create a warning aura to tell you that Sacred Shield is about to expire with the default UI. The best you can do is alert yourself that the buff has already expired, which is too late.
Luckily, pvita has written a custom trigger to fix that. He built his indicator with differently-colored shields; I’ve more or less just taken the trigger and used it to make the Sacred Shield icon “bounce” whenever you have less than 8 seconds left. I’ve also moved it to the left of the Weakened Blows icon and made it larger so that it’s a little more obnoxious (and thus, easier to notice).
Sucellus over at Light’s Hammer also noted that it isn’t just Vengeance we care about for Sacred Shield, we also care about overall attack power. And there happen to be several nice haste trinkets with strength procs this tier, so it’s worth adjusting for that. I’ve incorporated his attack power modifications into my own auras, so now they record overall attack power. I’ve also added it to the Vengeance display for consistency. Since that made it harder to see exactly how much of that contribution is from Vengeance, I modified it to give both values in the format “Attack Power (Vengeance)”. For example, “50k (0k)” would mean you have 50k attack power, none of which comes from Vengeance.
Finally, Reverde asked if it would be worth tracking haste as well, since Sacred Shield scales very well with haste. He pointed out that in many cases it wouldn’t be worth over-writing a Sacred Shield cast near the end of Bloodlust unless the attack power change was very significant. So I’ve added a spell-haste-tracker for Sacred Shield as well. You can see what these modifications look like in the YouTube video below:
I’m not sure why the videos didn’t record with sound this time, but it’s not worth going back and re-uploading just for that.
I’ve also been playing a priest alt pretty heavily, so I finally have auras to share for Shadow and Atonement/Discipline. They look something like this:
I think I also updated the Rogue auras from level 85 to 90, though I don’t play that character heavily so they’re still fairly barebones. I believe I made slight modifications to the Warlock auras as well, but I honestly can’t remember what they were.
WordPress is finicky about text boxes containing large strings, so all of my Auras are hosted at Pastebin. Here are direct links to the two WeakAuras strings used in my tanking UI:
And of course all of my auras can be found by browsing my Pastebin account:
